Hello and welcome to Handmade Introductions.

The aim of this blog and accompanying Facebook page is to help connect shoppers with small businesses who make beautiful items.
Since I started running my Facebook page in January 2013 I have discovered so many fabulous small businesses with incredible talent, producing unique items.

I thought it would be great to have a website where all these makers could be collected together and browsed by potential customers.

I'm not sure how it will all work at the moment - I'm just going with the flow!

Okay, today we have a share for a very pretty page.

Bellaboo make the loveliest hair accessories for little girls.
Their page is full of fresh and sweet items - all made with love, with a little girl seal of approval.
Very reasonable prices too - would make great little stocking fillers.

Lazydoll

Sorry for not sharing for a while, we have been rather busy of late but intend to be in touch more often in the lead up to Christmas (eeek - it'll be here before you know it!)

I stumbled across this page this evening and just fell in love with the simple yet wonderfully artistic little characters that Lazydoll brings to life on her phone cases, purses/bags cushions and other fab hand made items.

Fox's Felts make a wonderful array of mobiles and other unique felt creations for those special little people in your life.

This page makes the prettiest brooches and accessories from new and recycled fabrics, buttons and beads.

In a rainbow of lovely colours there are a range of sizes available and brooches can also be made to order.

Buttonsy Jewellery

If you like your jewellery pretty with a little bit of quirkiness then Buttonsy Jewellery is the page for you.

Flowers, birds, dandelions and a smidgen of glitter are all to be found in Buttonsy's beautiful range.
Browsing through their Etsy shop is like strolling through a meadow on a Summers day.

The thing I like so much about Buttonsy is that they are always trying something new - and it always seems like they're having fun at the same time.

Linen Circus

I love the name of this page - it conjurs up so many lovely images. And lots of those images come to life when you have a browse through their pages.

Linen Circus make whimsical art dolls and creatures using vintage linen, lace and buttons. From fabric fish to lavender trees and back again, there is all sorts of quirky loveliness to be seen at Linen Circus.

Again, they have a very unique style and a very pretty website - you must pop by and say Hi.

Claire Gent Design

Another one of my favourite pages to kick us off today.

Claire makes the most stunning silver and hand-painted aluminium jewellery.
Her work is so beautiful and unique, you will most certainly fall in love with it.

The first share for this evening is for the fab Pipandsqueak.

Yasmin makes very cool jewellery pieces that reflect current fashion trends, but all made by hand.
Her Facebook page is always interesting, fun and full of colour.

Jo Luckstead Ceramics

I love ceramics and I am a huge fan of this page.

Jo makes the loveliest, quirky ceramic creations, including sculptures, buttons, jewellery and bowls.

There is such a variety of items in Jo's Etsy shop and everyone of them is gorgeous.
I found it very hard to choose just one to feature.

Lisa at Cottage Coppicing makes fab handcrafted items from wood and coppice hazel.

She uses traditional tools and materials to create ever-so-lovely wooden things, including home accessories, buttons and fun products for kids.

It is a little treat to virtually wonder around her Etsy shop - and her love for the outdoors is clear.

Fiona at Inkyprints-originals creates stunning hand-printed linocut designs.

Her work is so inspiring -  fabulous colours and quirky designs.

As well as prints Fiona produces journals and gift tags based on her designs.
Her Folksy shop is a joy to mooch around - some beautiful items that would be a real asset to anyone's home.

Here we have another lovely jewellery page and shop for your perusal.

If you like glitter, then you will love this page!

A lovely, soft page of fluffiness for my first share today.

Claire makes fabulous cloud and raindrop themed home accessories for children (although I know lots of grown ups who would also love them).

I found it very hard to choose a favourite item, as everything is so gorgeous. Claire's photos are also fantastic and convey a real sense of fun - her Etsy shop is full of great items and it all looks so inviting.

Just the name of this page makes me happy!

Jolly Spoon make quirky, humorous cards, gifts and artwork. Very unique and retro - but with a contemporary twist.

The lady who makes all these fab items also likes to upcycle bits and bobs and incorporate them into her creations. She has some very clever ideas.

Melissa Smith Textiles

Hello and welcome to the first share of today.

I was enticed into this page by the lovely cushions in the timeline photo. When I delved a little deeper I learnt that not only does Melissa make the cushion covers, she designs and screen prints the beautiful fabrics too. The fabrics are just fabulous - and available in a ever so stylish colour range.
They are also available to buy in 1/4 metre, 1/2 metre and metre lengths.

There are lots of other lovely things in Melissa's Etsy shop including tea-towels, aprons and bunting.

A very different page to share now, and a fantastic idea.

Deedees Little Things

This pretty page comes all the way to you from France.

Andree makes gorgeous quirky fabric home furnishings and accessories. Her range includes cushions, wall hangings, garlands and headbands amongst other things as well as the most recent addition - summer dresses for little girls.

Andree uses fabulous, retro fabric in all the colours of the rainbow to create her lovely wares. There is a real charm to her work that makes you feel all warm inside.

Little Burrow Designs

It is very hard to describe what Claire at Little Burrow Designs does.

She creates the most amazing, whimsical, perfect little pieces of artwork and jewellery using antique and vintage haberdashery and fabrics.

Claire collects the most adorable little curios and then incorporates them into her unique pieces of art, using stitching, embroidery, text, buttons and all sorts of bits and bobs.

Miss Marple Makes

This page is so bright and cheerful, you can't help but smile. It also has one of the best names ever.

Cat makes fabulous porcelain jewellery and decorations in bright eye-popping colours. She has a very distinctive style - retro but contemporary at the same time, and her little characters are just full of life.

Alice Darkling

Another fabulous page that I am always happy to see when it pops up in my newsfeed.

Alice of Alice Darkling hand paints nesting dolls and also creates painted artwork. Her work has a real fairy-tale feel to it - and looks like it has just stepped out of a children's story book.
Her nesting dolls are just gorgeous and beautifully painted - if you are a fan of Studio Gibli films then you must go and check out her Etsy shop!

As well as producing ready made items, Alice accepts custom requests.

This page has been on my favourites list since I first started my own business page on Facebook.
Full of oh-so-pretty and delicate hand-knits, this page is a joy to browse.

Suzy makes luxury hand-knitted scarves, blankets and brooches amongst other things. She also accepts custom orders as well as designing and creating her own knitting patterns so that knitters can create their own little piece of Rebel Rose at home.

This is another new page to me - and it is certainly a lovely one.

Kate who runs this makes lovely baby quilts and nursery accessories. I am always in awe of people who make quilts as it requires such patience - something I don't have a lot of.

And Kate doesn't just make quilts - she makes gorgeous quilts in funky fabrics that would look fabulous in any nursery. You also must check out her lavender soother bunny ears - so cute!

Pixiecraft

I have been a fan of this page for a while now and when an update pops up in my newsfeed it always makes me smile.

Pixiecraft specialise in quirky hand-embroidered designs on homewares, gifts and accessories. They also now sell some of their designs as prints and offer a printed fabric label service.

I love Pixiecrafts designs  - they are so cute and cheerful, and beautifully stitched. You can't help but fall in love with this page.

Mrs Pixie is currently on maternity leave so her husband Mr Pixie is helping run the business in the mean-time. Fabulous teamwork!

This is another of my favourites.

With a very distinctive, quirky style Melodie of Maidolls makes art dolls, original artwork and brooches.

Hello and welcome to the first share of the evening - PJ and Boo.
Again, I have been a big fan of this page for a long time. The lady who runs this page makes beautiful bunting and single hanging flags. I imagine it must be quite hard to make bunting stand out from the crowd but PJ and Boo manage to do it. Combining pretty fabric, text and applique - this bunting is really the cream of the crop. Love it.

I have been a fan of this page for quite sometime - and you will soon see why. This lady makes such quirky, fun ceramic items, all beautifully hand-painted.

The Fox in the Attic

Hello - and happy Friday. There is a good feeling in the air today.

My first share today is for the delicious Fox in the Attic.

This page and Etsy shop make hand-embroidered soft toys, cushions and pincushions. Their designs are stunning - so quirky and fabulous. They also make bespoke animals - with the name of the baby or child embroidered on the front. This is another new page to me and is such a cosy one.

Phew - it sure is warm. Do you love it or hate it? I love the sunshine but not necessarily the heat when it is as stuffy as it is at the moment. But I'm not complaining!
